Custom Wallpaper

Today I had the opportunity to install custom wallpaper, the first thing I'd suggest to anyone

considering custom patterns is buy more than you expect to use. When installing this type of wallpaper making the designs match up could can waste up to 2.5ft at a time, I've never installed anything with so much waste. As you seam the paper together watch your pattern to make the seams almost disappear, I suggest going a little heavy on the glue where your seams will be so it's easier to slide the paper closer together and the excess glue will help blend the seam together. Set your seam and scrape towards the outer edges watching your overhang. When trimming the paper I use a 30" paint guard for a nice straight line. After installing each sheet use a wet terry cloth towel to remove the excess glue. Once your wall is done I suggest using a wet sponge over the entire wall removing any leftover glue and softening the paper a bit in case you need to make some adjustments. Take your time and really pay attention. On this print there were two different ways the flowers would line up but the birds would be in the wrong spot!
