This week I worked on a clients kitchen, they had a bland old ceiling fan that was off center and just looked terrible and didn't give off much light in the kitchen cooking area, they also had a couple of bad ceiling tiles. The owner gave me free reign and a budget. To replace the tiles the entire ceiling would have had to come down. I designed a light box and found a country style fixture that used mason jars for globes to cover the bad tiles and the spot where the fan was. I moved the light to the center of the kitchen and it changed the whole look of the kitchen on a VERY small budget less than a 1/4 of what it would have cost to fix the existing issues.
