It’s the little things,

Writer: Bmc HandymanBmc Handyman

Todays blog is about the little things you can do that make a big difference. This week I was called out to a job in a beautiful neighborhood. The clients had swinging doors for the entrance to the bathroom and wanted a rolling barn door installed in its place. First I marked all the studs and then installed the rail directly to the studs so the door was well supported. And installed rollers and hung the door. Most handymen would just be done there, but at no charge to the customer I went ahead and filled the hinge plate cutouts for them so after they painted you'd never know the other doors were even there to begin with. Why you might ask would I spend the extra time? Well it's simple, if you do a little more, if you vacuum up your mess, if you go the extra mile, it shows your pride in what you do and leaves the customer feeling like they got the most for thier dollar from your business and that's what sets a real business apart from the average joes. I had a dear friend to me who passed from covid awhile back tell me once if you have integrity nothing else matters, but if you DONT have integrity, well..... nothing else matters and I carry that with me each day. If I don't know how to do something I'm not going to lie and say I do, I'll tell them the truth, I've never done it but I know I can figure it out. If I do a job I'm going to do it to the best of my ability every time no shortcuts it's the little things.
