So I'm todays blog, well really it's going to be a rant lol is about why sometimes cheaper isn't better. the past few days I've spent my time working on a home near the OKC metro, it's a house someone is going to sell and there's been a few different "not so handymen" work on it. When looking for someone to do quality work you should expect to pay quality pay. This was a lesson learned for my client. What he thought was a deal well, just wasn't. They painted the exterior of his home and in the process got overspray all over the brand new black shingles. On the interior not a single door would close properly and the door casings had giant gaps in them with insulation hanging out. We sat down and discussed what it would cost per job and I explained to the client that I can quote it but paying my day labor rate would save them a lot of money since they had so many projects they needed done. We agreed to two days one outside and one inside, I complete everything on the list I possibly can in those two days and we can go by the job after that. That gives the client the ability to get the most bang for the buck if you will in these type of situations where there are multiple issues at hand. I've spent this entire week redoing things other not so handymen have done. The cheaper cost means cheaper quality or sometimes no quality at all as was the case with this homeowner. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more on a professional.
